FKN TYPICAL!

Well..here I am in my apartment....searching for a job... yet again.
Christoffer was without a job for one whole day and today he's got an interview. Me on the other hand have applied for 40 jobs and hav had one interview so far. And I didn't get that job either so. What am I doing wrong?

Anyway. Applied for jobs on Gardermoen (Oslo's Airport) and with a little bit of luck I'll get it. Pretty well paid and I have a friend who works there as well. Would be so sweet to get it!
Full time is about 5000CAD/month. And with that money I can get enough money to go to Canada again and stay there for 6 months :)

Another thing I'm planning is to study in Canada. So if anyone has any sugestions....shoot. It would be wicked to study in Vancouver or Calgary with all the skiing around those cities :)

Jobb applying is a pain....

Well..another day another spent dollar :(
Have applied for some more jobs and I should get a job real soon. It's just the feeling of not having a job that is really getting on my nerves.
Had an interview last thursday and they didn't call back. But it was eventsales job anyway and I werent to keen on that at all. So good riddens....or something.

Applied for a job in a Peak Performance store. It would be sweet cause Im a gear nerd for sure ...and It's super close to my new home.

Other then that... not much going on.
Well... a lot have happend. Midsummers eve last weekend and that was soo much fun. Went to the westcoast in sweden to a place called Hamburgsund and meet up with some old skiing buddies. Super fun and everything was according to tradition. The dances, food weather (some rain...of course). But It was so much fun and it was good to see them again for sure!

And yeah...I moved to Oslo :P hehe
So I live on Schöningsgate 26a now in Majorstuen, Oslo, Norway, Europe, Earth, Milkyway (vintergatan in swedish which translates to winterstreet) with a bunh of skiers. Really sweet but a bit crowded. 5persons living in a 3rooms apartment, 74m2. So I bet you get it.

Took some pics today but havent uploaded them or anything but...keep on checking out the blog and there will be pics!

On a streak ..eh?

Next up was the Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships....well actually not but I don't really remember any events between Valborg and SBMC so....yeaaah.

No driving this time. Night train from Skövde via sthlm and final destination Riksgränsen. Sat my ass on the first train which was a X2000 train = our fastest trains in sweden. They are a bit different compared to other highspeed trains cause they use regular rails which are not banked on the curves so the train tilts quite heavily in the turns....pretty cool though.
About 2h later I arrive in Sthlm. The first person I see is this huge guy with dreads and a pair of suuuper fat skis.
" So are you going to Riksgränsen?" I asked the monster.
 " Yeah I am..you too I guess?"
 " Yupp"
The guys name was David Odencrantz and was sponsored by Halti, I think, and Hendryx skis (handmade powder skis with short turn radius).
Just outside the Riksgränsen train he meet a guy he was supposed to travel and live with in Riksgränsen. Mikael Cajbrink was his name and he was a ski builder just like Hendryx, onky younger at mear age of 20 and obviously lacked experience from ski building. But his skis looked bomber and he had a couple of really nice models out allready...RAD.

A bunch of hours later we arrived in Riksgränsen and the weather was ...so and so. A lot of really famous skiers came out of the same train as me people like Per Huss, Jeanette Hargin (former olympic skier turned freeride godess). PRetty cool the me anyway.

After the 300m walk..draaaagging my stuff to the hotell I called my friends, from my house in Golden, Jon and Oskar. They had the same agenda as me...compete in their first SBMC and have a great time in Riksgränsen.
I didn't have a place to stay which sucked. Allthough we menaged to drop my shit of in their apartement. I geared up and we went up to the mountain for some warm up runs and some laughs.
Not that many laughs though cause the wind was howlin' and it was mighty cold. No bother scoping any lines cause the vis was soo bad and the lifts closed pretty early too...so there was only one lift open but a lot of variations in the runs for sure.
So we hucked small stuff and practiced flat landings.....not that fun but hey it's good for the knees...or something...?

No aprés for us. Just food, rider meeting, "safety safety blablabla welcome to SBMC2009!" and then..sleep. Me still without a bed....sucked bad to know that.
In the hotel lobby I meet some friends from the first season in Golden, Sten and Björn Lundström . And it so happened that Sten had a friend, Gabriell Andersson, that was in the same position as me. So we hooked up and got a really good room. Cheap too! 1100kr for 3 days = super cheapo!

Day one...first comp ever :P

Name of Venue: Sadeln = the saddle

Pretty mellow on the skiers right side and som serial gnar gnar on the left side.
First time I scoped I line and at first I was like.... this was easy. I'm sooo gonna remember this!
turn turn turn cliff long turn and one last huck...easy as pie.I thought.
I had a super late start so I was checking out all the other competitors runs. Some friends did well some other didn't. David chrashed so bad and got a bad cut just under the left eye.
Oskar, who is a snowboarder, had a hard time managing the scetchy slope and didn't score that well. Jon chose the same line as me and made it look pretty good but kinda missed on the first cliff.
Myself...getting pretty nervous...but not super nervous though.
About 20 numbers before mine I started to hike up to the start.
Was in really good company up there. Sten, Björn, Mikael and Daniel Tapper was up at the start. Some celebs too. Per Huss, Emanuell Hedvall, Tom-Oliver Hedvall, Henrik Utter and last but not least Henrik Windstedt World Freeride Champion 2008.

Next number was me....super nervous.. knees shaking..just focus on one thing. Where is that first huck??
"Rider ready. RIder go!"
Where is that fkn huck??? cliff cliff cliff??
There it is... oops wrong side...
Got kicked a bit cause I came on the skiers left side instead of the skiers right side...lost some contol and some points for sure :(
Turn, turn ohhhhh..point dem! Huck, tuck and land.
Stoked about landning the last one so good (I landed in another landning so it was pretty stiff...no give at all) but still pissed about not really doing the right line.

yada yada yada...all riding done.
Went down to the hotell just waiting for the results. Didn't make the cut...damn! out of 92 riders only 30 qualified for the next 2 days. So...a big cut for sure.

Next day...breakfast...bad weather. Was there going to be any competing at all? It was supposed to be 2 runs today...wont be 2...maybe one?

Around 1am it cleard a bit...green light.

Super cold and only the bravest of the brave of the spectators was out there...me included. Wierd face for sure. Some hucks at the top...then nothing and one small in the end.

The judging was fucked up! Some scored really high from really bad lines and som got bad scores from some really gnar lines!

Las day was soo much fun! Sunsunsun and good riding from everyone! Most impressive was Matthias Hargin who used 2 turns on the whole venue! COOOOOL

1 in the ski category was Christian Björk....rightous!

Next update an pics will follow shortly!

next update

Anyways. After the comp I went home to Mariestad again. Next thing on the calendar was "Valborg" wich is a swedish tradition when we celebrate the arrival of summer....aka party.
I had nothing to do in Mariestad. Non of my friends were home so it felt like it was going to be a pretty booring Valborg.
Around 5 am Emil Rydell calls me saying that they are going to have a big party in Karlstad, university city, so I thought to myself...why not.
Drove up there where the party was full on! People everywhere. DJ's playing, bbqs and smiley happy faces....drunk faces as well :P
The only concern was us getting in to the partytent where, supposedly, the real party was going down. Emil knew a girl who was in charge of the tickets and she let us in for free. But we left almost as fast as we came in cause it was relly bad..like zero people and no party. So back to the house we where hanging out at.
The exchange students were having some kind of indoor party so we joined in.
Unfortunetly I had to drive home the next day...and I was getting kind of tired too.
Bed, wake up, and then a drive into Karlstad city for some hung over pizza. I wasnt hung over cause well..I didnt drink that much due to the me driving part.

Peas

Oslo ..again.

So..It struck me that it might could be fun for my non swedish friends to tune in on whats happening in my life. So it will be strictly english from now on...cappish!?

And yeah...these first ones will be a recap of my summer so far eh?

Anyways.
After i flew home from Calgary in april I've done not as much as I hoped to do. Just a few days after my arrival in my hometown of Mariestad I drove, by myself, 1120km times 2 to compete in a freeskiing comp in Hemavan. So after a really tough 12h drive I was there. Met up with some friends and had a blast the first day, non comp day, and Hemavan was pretty fun. Not steep at all but some fun stuff to do for sure...and it was SUNNY :) Slush is the next best thing after powpow for sure!

Comp day.
I wake up super tired, slept on a couch....ouch....really...ouch, grabbed my gear and attended the rider meeting where they discussed rules and other things worth mentioning like safety and the party afterwards :P At the same time ...breakfast.

Took the T-bar up to the top Hemavan and traversed to Kobåsen where the comp was held. Sun was out and it all felt like it was falling into place. After 20min some small clouds moved in, like the forecast said it would, but we werent so worried...at that time.
Hiked up to the start position and scoped the line. It was a fluent line starting with a small huck ,about 2m, and then a long sweeping turn towards some rock where huck #2 was...about 3m high. This one a bit trickier cause of the angle of the lip and the steep and in every way unforgiving landings can be unforgiving...sharks and ice bearing all over the place..not fun.
Final drop looked sooo fun. Steep on to steep, about 2-5m depending on where you droped in.

I wasn't nervous, just stoked and really happy beeing on my skis again! The guys who was in charge of the whole comp was waiting out the weather as it turned worse and worse by the minute. Riders was getting stressed about the vis. But eventually they gave us the sign.... "get up there and let's do this!"
Vis was getting soo bad and by the time the last girl made it to the top it was IMPOSSIBLE to see 10m in front of you. "Yeah guys...the vis isn't getting better so... get down here cause the comp is cancelled".
FKNA!!! Drove all this way for nothing?
"But hey..come to the banquette tonight...that's where the REAL comp is"...

Well..the banquette was really fun and I made some new friends but....next year..plan the weather better goddammit!!!

Yeah...my roomies just came home so I'm gonna hang with them for a while now.
